Biography:

A native of Central California, Bryan's passion is to bring accessible, affordable, and quality anesthesia services to this region. Through mentorship and systems thinking, Bryan continues to inspire the next generation of advanced practice nurses who will go out into the communities and improve access to healthcare. 

Bryan is an active leader in providing a solution for the shortage of CRNAs by creating educational and workforce opportunities.

Dr. Rich Romo, MD

Biography:

Born and raised in the Central Valley, Dr. Romo wants to make a positive influence on the community and provide the best care possible for his patients. Education and mentoring is his passion and he strives for excellence in all endeavors. 

Matt Twitchell, MSNA, CRNA

Biography:

            Matthew Twichell, MSN, CRNA is originally born and raised in Reno, Nevada. Having migrated down to the central valley for CRNA school in 2016, he and his family decided to stay in the central valley after graduation from National University’s CRNA master’s program in 2018. After graduation Matt worked at Community Regional Medical Center and provided anesthesia services to some of the valley’s most fragile patients in a variety of surgical specialties including Neuro, gynecologic, oromaxillofacial, orthopedic, obstetric, general, trauma and pediatric surgery. After working for about 12 months, he did a short stent as a primarily outpatient anesthetist until he joined with Central California Anesthesia Solutions where he now works and enjoys providing anesthesia for a broad variety of surgical cases.

            Matthew’s primary interests lay in obstetric and regional anesthesia. He is a member of the Society of Opioid Free Anesthesia, from which he utilizes many techniques to minimize his anesthetic opiates and improve patient outcomes. He constantly researches and studies up and coming regional anesthetic techniques that he utilizes to provide excellent post-operative pain management and improve patient satisfaction.

            When he isn’t providing anesthesia, Matt is typically spending quality time with his friends and family at the lake on their boat and camping. Other interests including reading, zymurgy, motorcycle riding, working out and running throughout Clovis and surrounding area and entertaining his 5-year-old and 15-month-old around the house.

Shirley Zhao, DNAP, CRNA

Biography:

Shirley Zhao DNAP, CRNA, is a skilled clinician, specializing in nurse anesthesiology. Her passion is to elevate the quality, efficiency, and safety of anesthesia. She is actively involved in the community, volunteer work, and helping prospective students in the field of nurse anesthesia. Zhao has practiced in several rural hospitals in Central California. 

Shirley Zhao earned her DNAP in Nurse Anesthesiology at Midwestern University in 2020 and MSNA at National University in 2019. She was a member of the National University Scholars Program focusing on peer-mentorship, career, professional development, and research. She continues to perform as a National Alumni offering guidance and support to students in the field of nursing. She was also the recipient of the Agatha Hodgins Award for Outstanding Accomplishment in the art and science of nurse anesthesia.

Most of the year, she lives in the diverse city of Fresno California with her beloved Bischon Frise dog, Nova. In the winter months, she snowboards and basks in the majestic splendor that is the Sierra Nevada. Once in a while, she enjoys a good Netflix binge.

Nathan Adams DNP, CRNA (Managing Partner)

Biography:

Nathan is passionate about providing quality anesthesia care to his patients. His philosophy is to treat each patient the way he would want his family to be cared for. His professional interests are regional anesthesia, mentoring students, and anesthesia practice management. Nathan has cared for patients in many different settings from large academic hospitals, community hospitals, rural hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and office settings. His experience offers insight into finding solutions to problems that facilities may have with their anesthesia services.

 

Nathan was born and raised in Central California and is grateful to be practicing where he grew up.

Outside of work Nathan enjoys bee keeping, tending his small farm, traveling, and snowbording  

Matt Struthers, MSNA, CRNA

Biography:

Matt Struthers is a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist.  He enjoys his work providing care to patients, often at their most critical and vulnerable time during surgery, one at a time, in a personalized, safe, and caring way.  Matt has practiced in a variety of settings from large academic trauma centers, to community hospitals and small rural critical access hospitals. Matt is especially passionate about multimodal pain modalities, regional anesthesia, and learning new ways to better help his patients. 

Matt earned a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from National University-Fresno in 2016.  He is a native of Tucson, Arizona, and though he loves the desert southwest and his Arizona Wildcats, he and his family are loving the Central Valley of California and the good people that call it home. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, and their 2 children, doing anything outdoors- camping, hiking, biking, fishing, off-roading and the rest.

Kevin Tatum, MSNA, CRNA

Biography:

Kevin Tatum MSNA, CRNA is a highly capable and skilled provider specializing in the field of anesthesia. He received his nursing degree from California State University, Fresno following which he worked as an ICU registered nurse in the Burn Unit at Community Regional Medical Center. Returning to school to receive his Masters Degree from National University, Kevin travelled the country in clinical training sites throughout California and Arizona, as well as pediatric training at Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio. This diverse experience provided opportunities to fine tune his knowledge and proficiency in anesthesia. He strives to serve his clients and patients with the utmost respect and dignity while providing top-notch care.

Since graduation with his MSNA and passing his National Board Certification exam, Kevin has been working at hospitals and outpatient sites in the Central Valley caring for the people in his community.

Kevin was born and raised in the central valley of California. Kevin served a church mission from 2005 to 2007 learning Portuguese and helping the people of Cape Verde, Africa. He is an eagle scout and has a passion for board games, developing his strategy in chess, playing disc golf, watching football, and being with his family. He resides in Fresno with his wife and their two children.
